Good news, our video is done. And we can submit it on time tomorrow.
I'm glad we finished this module without much dispute and everything went smoothly.I appreciate all my group members' effort on our assignments. Good job everyone. I'm also glad to have Betrand as our lecturer as he is a very experienced filmmaker. I gain a lot from this and i am more motivated to make my film/fyp a great piece.
I don't really have a intended company in mind but i'm hoping to do production, post-production and maybe a little of motion graphics. I'm exciting for SIP yet nervious about it. I have to face it as it the real world. I will take this chance to learn as much as possible. Well, i'm the one benefitting from it anyway.
Then till, goodbye!! (:

DAY 9
Class in the morning at hereafter to learn about post production requirements and general media management. As not everyone was there, we watched Betrand's film and i find that it was a great work. I learnt how to understand and read and how each scene was done. It was very efficient.
On the other hand, we handed the footages over to Cheryl, the editor. She will go through all the footages we had captured and edit it at her own time. I guess everything will be done on time and i can't wait to see the other group's work.

DAY 8
Today is our shooting day. We loaned out 3 camera, 3 tripod and a broom mic. Cheryl wasn't here with us as she's feeling feverish. So the 3 of us, headed out to the bus stop near Tampines stadium and get ready for the shoot. Our cast of the day is our dear friend Alvin soe. While waiting for his arrival , we set up our cameras and make sure nothing is in our ways. You know Singaporeans are indeed Singaporean. Or should i say auntie is indeed auntie. "Ni men zai pai xi ah? You ming xin lai ah?" If not everyone start staring at us, smiling and waving at the camera when it's not even on. Well, speechless..
Anyway, when alvin arrived, we started taking note of buses coming. We need to make sure nothing blocks the view of the bus and when we are sure, alvin must get ready to run. The very first take was pretty good but our broom mic was in the way! No one can hold it so we place it somewhere but it eventually got into the frame still. So we decided to abandunt the idea for recording sound through broom mic so we carried on noticing bus. With a third attempt, we managed to get a good shot. We're so happy we finally got the shot and we're lucky that we got it before the rain came.
The next shoot is at a coffeeshop. It's just behind the bus stop. We hurried our way there as we execpt the rain and indeed, the rain came pouring down once we settled in the coffeeshop. Well at least we're not caught in the rain.
The rain came in a sudden and left in a sudden too. So we continued with the shoot. As usual, those uncles at the coffeeshop kept staring and even thought we're gonna shoot them -.- Oh well, we had a couple of takes as i couldn't stop laughing at alvin soe. He sure can act! Majorie hand held the camera and we planned our shot properly so everything goes to the right place at the right time. At after may time of trys, we got it!
We're laughing and having fun all along. Didn't think it would be so exciting. But the main hardship was carrying those cameras and tripods. I wonder if i can survive for my FYP.
Regardlessly, we did it! We finished our production and now it will be post-production!

DAY 6
We're now starting on our second assignment. A multi-cameras shoot and a ndp shoot. We're doing the pre-production of it and gonna consult Betrand on our idea before executing it.
Our idea on the multi-cameras shoot is about this man who notices his bus from afar, try running for it, manage to catch it before the bus reaches his stop, jumps in joy, hops onto the bus and leaves. And the ndp idea will be on typical singaporean who try to "chop" seat in hawker.
Hope everything works out well :D

DAY 5
Today, we have the real shoot for interview in tv studio. Everyone including me dressed up for the respective role we're gonna be. I am acting as a hong kong director with heavy hong kong accent. First we get our props and lighting all set up. Then we have our cameras all set up. Lastly we adjusted everything to suit the mood of the show.
Our group did the shooting first. We get ready behind our cameras and majorie behind her mixer. Majorie is clear of what she want and everything went smoothly. Next up is Raymond's group shooting and we're the interviewer/ee. The main thing is, we're on bike. All thanks to raymond's idea. Joel had a hard time sitting on it. He's was perspiring so badly. Haha. Anyway, everything went smoothly although we had quite a number of takes for ray's group. But we had fun, that's all matter.
I've learnt new things through this assignment and that's enough. As we don't really have much lecture on technical stuff, i really appreciate this lesson very much.

DAY 4
Today, we rehearsed on our interview in the tv studio. We got our script, floor plan, lighting and camera design done so we're all ready to start rehearsing. We started setting up all the necessary equipments, putting together all the props we need and making sure our mics and cameras are working well. I'm in charge of camera 1. A close up of yuan, the interviewer. When we're all ready, majorie take control over everything and we had a couple of times of trying out the shoot. Well, i can say i am looking forward to the real shoot as i can anticipate how funny the joker, director wu will be.
Overall, i had fun in this rehearse shoot today (:

DAY 3
While our script is processing, we attended a lighting workshop held by Betrand's friend (sorry i can't remember his name). He taught us outdoor lighting. First we're broken up into different groups. Each group will proceed to different area to set up the camera and lightings. When we're ready, betrand and _____ will come over to give comments and suggestions on how we can improve the lighting at that situation. For my group, we did it in a classroom with window at the back. So we set the camera right in front of the window giving ourselves more challenges. At first everything outside the window are over-exposed. So we adjusted the aperture and eventually the room will get darker. This is the time we start choosing which light to put in and adjusting the lights. Our result wasn't that favourable. Everything was still too dark. Then, _____ suggested some lighting methods we can try to improve it. Ultimately, we managed to get a better lighting. After which we headed back to the studio where _____ revealed the other groups' video and explained about the situation and lighting solutions. It's quite useful and thanks _____ for making a trip down to share his experiences with us.
DAY 2
Jac came over to class to teach us how to operate the visual mixer. It's rather complicate yet easy in a way. Now i finally know how a tv show really operates. There will be multi cameras in the studio. Each camera will have a different angle and shot. A job of a visual mixer will be controlling the camera shots and changing them in order of how the show is going to be. For example from a wide shot to a close up then to a mid shot. It's like watching some entainment show or news.
Everything went well and smoothly. Of course i have learnt something new. I think being a visual mixer is not easy. Especially when doing live show. Very important role. Anyway, we will start preparing for assignment 1. A interview in tv studio. We will have 3 cameramans and 1 visual mixer. We have decided that Majorie will take up the role as visual mixer. So now we will proceed to our script, props, lighting/camera and floor plan design. All the best.

DAY 1
Today is the first day of class. Betrand did some briefing on what we will be taught and what assignment we will receive. Basically it's very fair to us as we are handing p3 as another module. So, the work for vidpro is quite spreaded out and the workload is not as heavy.
After briefing, we are to form a group of 4 for up coming assignments. So, after lots and lots of discussion here and there, intention of swapping class and etc, we stick back to our original classmates and my group include, Majorie, Joel and Cheryl. I'm happy with this arrangement.
Tomorrow's class we will be learning about the visual mixer. Something new and interesting (:
